The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Thorniewood Community Council for a summer of support provided to the Thorniewood community in North Lanarkshire; understands that the summer of support centrepiece was a community Fun Day hosted in partnership with the Tannochside Miners Welfare Club and Viewpark Parish Church, including the Olde Club; further understands that the community Fun Day was funded by the Big Lottery, with families from across Thorniewood enjoying a full programme of food and free entertainment including music, exhibitions, games, face painting and inflatables across three separate venue spaces; believes that during the summer school holidays, the impact of the increasing cost of living was most keenly felt by families with school age children, meaning the summer of fun and practical support organised by Thorniewood Community Council was particularly timely and topical; notes that Thorniewood Community Council also hosted a poignant memorial day at the Thorniewood Community Garden over the summer, alongside their ongoing support for the local food bank, as well as local football teams, boxing clubs and pipe band, and wishes Thorniewood Community Council well as it continues to assist the local community over what it considers will be a difficult winter for many families.
