Wishaw Golf Club Celebrates 125th Anniversary

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Wishaw Golf Club on its 125th anniversary; notes that the club marked the anniversary with 150 golfers taking to the course to compete in an anniversary competition; further notes that the original golf course was laid out between Heathery Road and Bridge Street, which extended down through Craigneuk; understands that in 1935, land was purchased from Lord Belhaven and James Braid, legendary golf course architect and former Open Champion, which laid out the parkland course as it is today; acknowledges that the club has hosted many fundraising events throughout the years, including Funky Natz Foundation, in memory of 11-year-old Natalie Hughes, Maggie’s Lanarkshire, Cancer Research and many other local charities, and wishes everyone at the club all the best for the future.
