Clyde Peatland - Finalist in Helping it Happen Awards 2022

The motion

That the Parliament commends Clyde Peatland on being named as a finalist for the Enhancing Our Environment through Land Management Award in the Scottish Land and Estates’ Helping it Happen Awards 2022; understands that the Helping it Happen Awards showcase a range of work taking place across Scotland to support rural success; notes the view that large scale land management projects are considered to be most successful when local, regional, public and private entities collaborate to meet their goals; understands that Clyde Peatland is a Green Network Blueprint delivery project hosted by South Lanarkshire Council, with support and funding from NatureScot, through the Peatland ACTION Fund; further understands that Clyde Peatland works with public and private sector land owners and managers to undertake projects that have a wide range of ambitions, from promoting net-zero to reducing flooding, and much more; commends Scottish Land and Estates on their efforts to highlight the benefits of effective land management, including through their annual awards, and wishes Clyde Peatland every success in the future, including at the awards event on the 5 October 2022.
