Dean Park Hotel Celebrates AA Four Star Rating

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Dean Park Hotel, in Kirkcaldy, for receiving a four star rating from the AA; understands that the award comes after the Dean Park Hotel was bought by Margaret and Colin Smart who launched a major refurbishment, with plans unveiled to create a state-of-the-art spa; further understands that the criteria for this award covers the level of quality for cleanliness, maintenance and hospitality, and for the quality of facilities and delivery of services; acknowledges that the hotel has been an integral part of the Kirkcaldy’s hospitality sector for generations after first opening in 1977, by businessman Eddie Melville, and remaining in the ownership of his family until its sale pre-COVID-19 pandemic; further acknowledges that, since its opening, the hotel has hosted thousands of weddings, events, family celebrations, functions and funerals as well as having a proud reputation as one of the best restaurants in town; commends Margaret and Colin for the hard work and dedication they have put into upgrading the hotel, and wishes them all the best for the future.
