Cumnock Set to Welcome New Local Employment Hub
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes Cumnock’s new learning and training opportunities hub, which aims to improve local employment across Cumnock and the surrounding areas, provided by Skills and Learning 33; understands that Skills and Learning 33 is a hub in Kilmarnock and that the new hub, to be named Skills and Learning 66, will be an extension of this; further understands that the new initiative, to be led by the education service, will bring together partners and national training providers working with the hub to support employers and local young people through work experience, apprenticeships and job opportunities; acknowledges that there are existing partnerships with Developing the Young Workforce Ayrshire, the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce and local and national businesses; notes that no official opening date has been set, but that it is hoped the hub will operate by early 2023, and wishes the service and all those involved every success over the coming months.
