Free Cooking Classes to Begin in Glasgow's East End

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Glasgow Community Food Network and Unity Social Kitchen who have partnered up to run a four-week block of free cooking classes in Parkhead’s Drill Hall Pantry; understands that the cooking classes aim to enable locals to learn how to eat more sustainably, healthily, and affordably, and inspire people to eat more food made from scratch; further understands that they will also focus on teaching mindfulness when it comes to food waste reduction; understands that the classes will take place every Wednesday throughout the month of October 2022; notes that each class will be led by a Unity Social Kitchen chef who will teach participants a couple of recipes each session using locally grown food, and further notes that participants will be able to eat what they cook with other participants at the end of each class or take it home.
