Winter Coat Exchange Launched at Glasgow Shop
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates local business, The Clydeside Collective as it prepares to launch its winter coat exchange in October 2022; understands that The Clydeside Collective’s St Enoch Centre shop is one of three across Scotland that will offer the service, which encourages people to donate their unwanted coats and jackets to be passed on to those who need them; notes that, from 1 October 2022, a range of coats will be available for members of the public to collect at the store free of charge with no questions asked; understands that it is the second time that the initiative will run with last winter's efforts hailed as a huge success; acknowledges that Sara Thomson, founder of The Clydeside Collective, launched the winter coat exchange to support local people and offer a sustainable solution to keeping quality clothes out of landfill, and further acknowledges that, as a Community Interest Company, all profits from The Clydeside Collective go towards supporting the community and promoting sustainability through the arts.
