Zenob and McGill’s Electrify Greenock’s Bus Depot
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that Zenob is expanding its collaboration with McGill’s to deliver a new electric bus depot in Greenock and bring the transport operator’s total number of electric buses to 109; notes that, as well as electrifying the company’s local depot in Larkfield, work will be undertaken to grow McGill’s existing electric sites at Inchinnan and Johnstone; recognises that the announcement follows the award of funding from the Scottish Zero Emission Bus Challenge Fund to McGill’s for new electric buses and the infrastructure to support them; understands that, in the last 12 months, McGill’s reports delivering 7.5 million passenger journeys on zero-emission buses, totalling over three million vehicle miles; believes that McGill’s commitment to offering more environmentally-friendly public transport to customers will help Scotland meet its climate targets, and wishes Zenob and McGill’s all the best as they embark on this project.
