Blue Triangle CEO, Iain Macfarlane, Shortlisted for HR Network National Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Iain Macfarlane, CEO of Blue Triangle, who has been shortlisted for the prestigious HR Network National Award for Chief Executive of the Year; understands that Iain joined Blue Triangle as CEO in September 2020, a social care organisation based in Glasgow that empowers people to thrive all over Scotland by delivering solutions in connected communities that focus on the needs of each individual; notes what it sees as Iain’s outstanding commitment to promoting social justice, including the launch of HOPE Connections in 2017, which, it understands, is a charity focused on supporting people and families trapped in cycles of addiction, offending, homelessness, and poor mental health, doing so in response to the tragic death rates across Glasgow; understands that Iain has developed unique and impactful partnerships with the NHS Scotland, Social Work, Community Justice, Police Scotland, and the Scottish Prison Service, bringing this unique, connected and compassionate communities model to Blue Triangle, and commends Iain for further increasing the impact of Blue Triangle by developing innovative partnerships with football clubs across Scotland, under a Cathedrals of the People programme, which recognises what it sees as football’s unique position in Scottish society and the opportunity to harness this and empower the most vulnerable citizens.
