Ballater Memorial Named Best Small Memorial with Gardens

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Ballater War Memorial on being named The Best Small Memorial with Gardens at Legion Scotland’s 40th annual awards ceremony; notes that Ballater War Memorial has been recognised at the awards ceremony almost every year since first entering in 2011; understands that the stone memorial commemorates the men of Glenmuick Parish Church who gave their lives in the First and Second World Wars, and has stood for 100 years since its unveiling; further understands that Legion Scotland, volunteers, and councils have improved the condition of many memorials through this competition; considers that war memorials are an important part of Scottish communities and that winning an award requires selfless hard work from those who maintain it, and wishes those caring for the Ballater War Memorial continued success in the future.
