Jenni Wins Award for Transformative Community Work in Inverclyde

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Jenni Murray on being named Project Coordinator of the Year at the Paths for All Volunteer Awards 2022, held in the Scottish Parliament; understands that Jenni was recognised for her passion, drive and support, which has meant that the Inverclyde Bothy and its volunteers have had a huge impact in the community by engaging people in local Health Walks; believes that after volunteering for six months as a Walk Leader with Inverclyde Bothy, which is managed by Cycling UK, Jenni’s passion for walking and the outdoors encouraged her to make a career change and in 2019 she secured the role as Health Walk Coordinator with the group; considers that Jenni’s work has seen the bothy volunteer network grow to 18 volunteers, who are supporting 460 individuals to make positive lifestyle choices and changes; thanks Jenni for her commitment to the Inverclyde Bothy project, and wishes her and the group all the best for the future.
