Over £2,000 Raised for Clydebank Childhood Cancer Charity
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates young Clydebank resident, Caleb Stirrat, and his friends and family, on raising over £2,000 for childhood cancer through a charity run; notes that Caleb, aged six, has been receiving palliative care for a rare atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumour since he was three years old, including chemotherapy and a drug trial; understands that his mother, Karen, arranged the run to highlight Go Gold for childhood cancer awareness month, which had over 30 participants and raised thousands of pounds for the new charity that they set up, Caleb’s Trio of Hope; notes that Caleb completed the Victoria junior parkrun in Glasgow alongside his parents and sisters, which, it understands, is a great personal achievement for him given that he struggles to walk short distances and experiences leg pain due to the after effects of his treatment; applauds all those involved, and sends Caleb and his family their best wishes.
