Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh's Engaging Gardens Community Programme

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh on its Engaging Gardens community programme; understands that this aims to ensure that every person has the opportunity to access and benefit from the health, wellbeing and learning opportunities offered by the garden, and its collections and expertise; further understands that the programme intends to connect health, wellbeing, environmental sustainability, people and plants; believes that the Edible Gardening Project works with community groups across Edinburgh to share horticultural knowledge, skills and enthusiasm for growing food with diverse communities, connecting people with the plants that nourish them; understands that groups work alongside a community gardener, learning how to grow vegetables, maintain, harvest and prepare crops, all in the surroundings of the Edinburgh garden; expresses its thanks to the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, and in particular for what it sees as the efforts of Elinor Leslie, Ben Dell, and Laura Gallagher of its community team for their hard work in this programme, and wishes them all the best for the future.
