West College Scotland’s Industrial Workshop in Greenock Helping Students Reach their Potential

Lodged by Stuart McMillan (Scottish National Party) Standard Motion 15 supporters

The motion

That the Parliament believes that West College Scotland’s (WCS) £350,000 state-of-the-art industrial workshop at their Greenock campus is helping produce a pipeline of talent after student, Ritchie McArthur, was named Plumbing Apprentice of the Year by the Scottish and Northern Ireland Plumbing Employers’ Federation (SNIPEF) trade association; understands that this is the second year in a row that WCS has been recognised for the first-class training provided at the Finnart Street campus construction facility, and as a result companies are queuing up to establish academy programmes at the campus; congratulates Ritchie, who works for James Patterson and Sons and is a second year apprentice, on this achievement, and wishes all the apprentices at the Greenock campus all the best as they continue with their qualification.
