The Bairns Group Wins the Parent Group Award at the Scottish Parent Awards 2022

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates The Bairns Group, from Kirkcaldy, which recently won the Parent Group Award at the Scottish Parent Awards 2022; understands that the awards are for parents who go above and beyond for their communities; notes that The Bairns Group runs a number of sessions, including pregnant group chats, classes for mums with new babies, messy and sensory play, as well as baby massage; further notes that The Bairns Group also has an online group chat, called In Our Own Time, for parents with children with additional and complex needs; acknowledges that The Bairns Group started after founding member, Laura Dryburgh, recognised the opportunity to follow her dream and start the group during the COVID-19 pandemic and that, since starting in July 2021, she has achieved certificates in baby massage and international intergenerational practice, and wishes Ms Dryburgh and The Bairns Group all the best for the future.
