The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Alison Bunce on being named RCN Nurse of the Year 2022 for her work with Compassionate Inverclyde; understands that Queen’s Nurse Alison set up Compassionate Inverclyde to tap into the kindness of the local community, and it is now a growing and self-organising collaboration of individuals, faith groups, voluntary bodies and businesses working alongside healthcare professionals to support people in crisis; further understands that Compassionate Inverclyde has delivered 4,434 back home boxes that have been packed for socially isolated people discharged from hospital, and that they arrange for companions to sit with people who would otherwise be alone in their final hours of life through their no one dies alone initiative; appreciates that Alison received the award at a ceremony in London on 6 October 2022, and was praised for the ambition and imagination she has shown for her community and the effect her leadership has had on recipients of support, as well as volunteers; thanks Alison for her commitment to the Inverclyde community, and wishes Compassionate Inverclyde all the best as, it believes, it continues to be a vehicle for providing vital support to vulnerable people.
