Port Glasgow Church Helping Reduce Single-use Plastic

The motion

That the Parliament applauds Port Glasgow New Parish’s Lighthouse Wellbeing Group, which meets for walking football once a week, and Walk, Talk and Breakfast group on teaming up with Literati Guide to Inverclyde to cut down on plastic by purchasing metal reusable water bottles; understands that Reverend William Boyle says everyone at the church is keen to help create a future without single-use plastics, and so they have taken the decision to ban plastic drink containers within the building; hopes that other churches and community venues consider implementing similar initiatives to help reduce plastic waste, and wishes the congregation all the best as they continue to work with the Literati group to implement eco-friendly policies in their church.
