Sainsbury's Own Brand Coffee Pods Go Plastic Free
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes Sainsbury’s UK’s announcement that its entire own brand coffee pod range will now be packaged in aluminium, with the aim of facilitating home recycling, and sparing ten million pieces of plastic from landfill every year; understands that the aluminium pods can be recycled at home using a pod recycling device, or by emptying with a teaspoon and then rinsing, before placing in kerbside recycling, and recognises this step as being what it sees as the latest in a string of plastic reductions, as part of the retailer’s ongoing commitment to halve its own brand plastic packaging by 2025.
