Scottish Youth Poetry Slam 2022, Congratulating Hillhead Primary School and Lily Blake

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the pupils of Hillhead Primary School in Glasgow Kelvin on being crowned Slam Masters at the Scottish Youth Poetry Slam 2022 for their poem Nature, and thereby winning the 2022 Slam Masters trophy; notes that the trophy was designed by Sian Mather from Project Ability, a Glasgow-based visual arts charity supporting artists with disabilities; understands that the Scottish Youth Poetry Slam is a bi-annual competition encouraging young people to embrace language through poetry and the spoken word; commends Lily Blake, an 11-year-old pupil at Hillhead Primary, for winning the individual competition with her poem Don’t be in Such a Rush to Grow Up, and congratulates all other winners and those who took part in the competition.
