Hospitalfield House Awarded National Lottery Heritage Fund Grant

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the awarding of £277,176 to the repair of Hospitalfield House in Arbroath; understands that this funding comes as part of the National Lottery Heritage Fund and forms 45% of the total cost of the building’s repair and welcomes the ongoing work through the Hospitalfield Future Plan Phase 4; notes the cultural significance of Hospitalfield House, which was transformed into an art school in 1902, inspired Sir Walter Scott to write Antiquary and is situated on a site with a heritage dating to the 13th century, and notes what it sees as the importance of its restoration as an important historical landmark.
