Innovative Computer Collaborative Launches in Aberdeen

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Aberdeen City Council, North East Scotland College, Robert Gordon University and the University of Aberdeen for the innovative multi-agency partnership focused on cultivating interest and opportunities in digital learning careers; notes that the collaboration is part of the north east’s response to creating more talent in programming and engineering, and is tasked with developing effective professional learning for computing science and other teachers to help maintain skills and knowledge; understands that the Aberdeen Computing Collaborative will also focus on attracting more graduates to computing science teaching positions, while also increasing opportunities to undertake Professional Graduate Diploma in Education locally through a variety of entry points; further understands that the work will also involve reviewing the curriculum to ensure that it is attractive for learners; commends the work of the Aberdeen Computing Collaborative, and extends its best wishes for future success.
