Congratulating Fife Whisky Festival on Raising £4,250 for local Charity Age Concern Cupar

That the Parliament congratulates the team behind Fife Whisky Festival on raising £4,250 for local charity, Age Concern Cupar; notes that the event, which took place earlier in 2022 and saw 650 people attend, was organised by Daftmill Distillery and retailer Luvians; understands that this will be its largest donation, having supported the charity since launching the festival in 2017 and that this funding will support the charity as it faces rising energy costs and repairs to its minibus; further understands that Daftmill Distillery based near Cupar, and Luvians, which has bottle shops in St Andrews and Cupar, waived its usual profits from the festival bottlings, a single cask release and the profits from each bottle, with an extra £50 donation for those with untouched labels being donated to the charity; notes that the festival has plans to run from 3 to 5 March 2023, at the Corn Exchange, in Cupar, Fife and has already sold out its tickets; understands that it is expected that more than 35 distilleries and independent bottlers from across Scotland will be in attendance and that the annual festival highlights the resurgence of whisky-making in Fife by bringing together the best whisky producers from across the region and beyond; recognises the hard work of award-winning Bridge of Allan firm Angels’ Share Glass and Kask Whisky on launching the festival in 2017, and extends its very best wishes for success of the upcoming 2023 event.
