Celebrating 40 Years of the East Kilbride Credit Union

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates East Kilbride Credit Union (EKCU) on its 40th Anniversary; notes that from its inception in 1982, the EKCU started with a collection of £280 from its founder members and has now grown into business with, it understands, assets of over £13 million, and £2.6 million currently being out on loan to borrowers; understands that the EKCU is a local, community-based financial organisation where members save together and have access to affordable credit; thanks chairwoman, Hillary Bannerman, the board of directors and all its members for the contribution it considers they have collectively made to East Kilbride, and wishes them the best for future successes.
