Amy Luke, East Kilbride’s Unsung Sporting Success
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates what it sees as East Kilbride’s unsung sporting success, Amy Luke, on winning Gold at the Irish International Open in Dublin; recognises that Amy, of the Yamakai Karate Club and the Scottish National Karate Team, who is colloquially termed as the “Golden Girl,” has won around 40 Gold medals in 10 years of competing, in addition to a haul of bronze and silver wins; notes the many competitions in which Amy competes, including the Scottish International Open and the British International Open, in addition to contests in the United Arab Emirates, Croatia and Sweden to name but a few; applauds Amy for her contribution to Scottish karate, and for cementing her place as part of East Kilbride’s sporting history, and wishes Amy all the best for an undoubtably bright and successful future.
