Alva Academy Raises Over £500,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support
The motion
That the Parliament Congratulates Alva Academy on its raising of more than £500,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support; understands that, following 2022’s fundraising drive that alone raised over £43,000, the running total, which stretches over the past 21 years, stood at £501,102.49 when it was revealed during a special school assembly on 7 October 2022; acknowledges that, each year, the pupils, led by the S6 cadre, have been raising funds through a variety of activities in and out of school, culminating in the Academy's very own Macmillan Coffee Morning, and commends everyone involved, including pupils, teachers and members of the community, for their dedicated, tireless efforts and extreme generosity.
