Befriend a Child Wins its Third Quality in Befriending Award

The motion

That the Parliament recognises Befriend a Child on winning its third Quality in Befriending award over six years; notes that the charity helps approximately 250 children every year, who, it understands, are growing up in difficult life circumstances in Aberdeen City and Shire, experiencing, for example, abusive households, poor mental health and low self-esteem; understands that it gives them help through one-to-one befriending and mentorship, imparting social skill building alongside having fun; believes that to have been accredited the nationally-recognised award from the Befriending Networks demonstrates the charity’s passion and commitment to improving the lives of children in the north east and requires a rigorous assessment; congratulates Befriend a Child for what it sees as the continued high-standard service being delivered to young people in the north east , and wishes it all the best for the future.
