Golden Friendships Charity, Dalmuir, Secures £120,000 National Lottery Funding

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Golden Friendships of Dalmuir on securing £120,000 of National Lottery community funding; understands that the funding guarantees £40,000 per year over the next three years and will go towards staffing costs to keep the centre operational; notes that founder, Jim McLaren, has been at the helm from the start and attributes the success of the charity to his dedicated team; believes that various activities, including singing, dancing, games and keep fit all help to alleviate loneliness and isolation within the community; applauds the efforts of the staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure everyone is made to feel welcome, and wishes the charity every success for the future.
