Paisley’s RAH Radio Volunteers Win at the UK Wide Radio Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Hospital Broadcasting Service at Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) on doing exceptionally well at the UK radio awards, where it became the most successful award-winning hospital radio station in the UK in 2022; notes its top placing for a special documentary, titled HBS@50 relating to the launch of the radio service on Christmas Day 1970; recognises the hard work these volunteers undertake in order to provide the highest quality service to the patients at the RAH; understands that the service performed by the 70 volunteers is essential to lifting the spirits of those receiving treatment at the RAH; considers that the £15,000 the organisation raises each year to provide the service and broadcast programmes 24-hours a day, is a significant achievement in itself, and applauds it for its fantastic achievement and the work it carries out.
