Congratulating Catherine Wilson
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Catherine Wilson, 71-year-old grandmother of 10, on her wonderful achievement of running a half marathon at the Great Scottish Run to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland; understands that Catherine has taken part in many races before, including a marathon and the Great Scottish Run twice, in order to raise money for a variety of charities as well as the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley; notes that Ms Wilson only began running at the age of 65 and encourages everyone to take up the sport no matter their age; understands that the running community and those at Kilbarchan Amateur Athletics Club were significant sources of support during her preparation for the race; commends Ms Wilson for her fantastic accomplishment, and wishes her the very best in her future running endeavours.
