X-Academy Wins the Just Transition Champion Award at the Renewable UK Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates X-Academy, which has recently won the Just Transition Champion Award at the 2022 Renewable UK Global Offshore Wind Awards; understands that the X-Academy will provide training opportunities for hundreds of people to work directly on initiatives to reduce emissions and accelerate towards net zero; believes that the X-Academy is a world-first transition skills initiative that was funded by the Energy Transition Zone Ltd through Aberdeen City Council and the Scottish Government North East Economic Recovery and Skills fund; notes that the Just Transition Champion Award is aimed at firms or organisations that are at the forefront of delivering a just transition, one that is better for people, places and the planet, with the award recognising excellence in establishing and/or delivering a Just Transition Strategy; further notes that the Renewable UK Global Offshore Awards took place on 25 October 2022 at the Royal Lancaster in London, with the awards now being a key industry event for 20 years; commends everyone involved with X-Academy, and wishes them all the best for the future.
