Congratulations to Albion Rovers FC on its 140th Birthday
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Albion Rovers FC on its 140th birthday; believes that, since the merger of Albion FC and Rovers FC in 1882, Albion Rovers FC has been a permanent part of the Coatbridge community, and over the years has topped both Division Two and Division Three in the Scottish Leagues; notes that their home for over a century, Cliftonhill, has hosted a breadth of community-enriching activities, for fans both old and new; recognises that the work recently undertaken by the Albion Rovers Supporters Trust, in partnership with charities, includes a local walking group, buddies programme and youth literacy initiatives; further recognises that a community hub was created on the stadium grounds, and thanks the Supporters Trust for its work in continuing to connect the club with the community.
