NHS Grampian Medics and Teams Nominated Finalists in Scottish Health Awards 2022

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the teams at Rosewell House, HorseBack UK as well as consultant gastroenterologist, Dr Balasubramaniam Vijayan and Fiona McKenzie, scientific manager of the Scottish Microbiology and Virology Network, for making the shortlist of the prestigious Scottish Health Awards 2022; notes that Dr Vijaayan was shortlisted for the Doctor award due to his unwavering compassion and commitment to patients; further notes that Ms McKenzie was shortlisted for Leader of the Year Award for building links between 14 health board labs; notes that Horseback UK, a charity that primarily helps ex-military personnel, was shortlisted for the Innovation award, due to its recognition that many health and social care workers were experiencing similar issues and providing them with support; understands that the team at Rosewell House was shortlisted for the Integrated Care Award for providing a safe place for patients to step down from an acute hospital environment or step up from the community; commends those that were shortlisted for their hard work and professionalism during what it considers is such a difficult time for the NHS, and wishes them all the best for the future.
