See Me Scotland's 20th Anniversary
The motion
That Parliament congratulates See Me, Scotland’s national programme to end mental health stigma and discrimination, on its 20th anniversary; recognises what it sees as the value of See Me’s Scottish Mental Illness Stigma Survey, which, it understands, helps the Scottish Government and mental health sector to better understand how people with complex and enduring mental illnesses experience stigma and discrimination in their everyday lives; applauds See Me’s projects such as the award-winning FeelsFM app, which uses the power of emojis and music to help young people express themselves; understands that mental health can impact anyone, at any time of life, and considers that all employers, third sector groups and wider society must promote the message that it is Okay Not To Be Okay; commends the Scottish Government for providing what it considers is long-term indicative funding to See Me, and wishes See Me, and all who use the service including across Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Borders, the very best for the future.
