The motion

That the Parliament recognises that, whilst 5 November can be an exciting time for many, considers that it is equally a challenging time for many such as those with combat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), refugees of war, those with sensory sensitivities and pets and livestock; encourages the public to be considerate in their use of fireworks and where possible to attend organised public displays rather than private displays; notes that those who may find this night stressful are encouraged to make a plan ahead of time and reach out to loved ones for support; understands that those who have animals, which may be distressed, can access advice from organisations like the PDSA, British Veterinary Association and the Scottish SPCA  and should ensure that they have a safe area to retreat to or hide in; recognises also the hard work of the emergency services in keeping everyone safe at this time of year, and hopes that 5 November can pass without any adverse incidents.
