Cullivoe Primary School Named Sustainable School of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament celebrates Cullivoe Primary School’s success at the Scottish School Food Awards; recognises that the nine-pupil school in Yell, Shetland took the award for Sustainable School of the Year at the ceremony in Edinburgh; understands that the school grows its own potatoes, turnips and carrots and also has a polytunnel to cultivate other crops such as sweetcorn and strawberries; further understands that the school received its fifth Eco-Schools Green Flag Award from the environmental charity, Keep Scotland Beautiful in 2021, and commends all the staff and pupils for their continued commitment to sustainability and the environment.
