The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Woven in Renfrewshire Project, run by Fablevision, on receiving a grant of £9,950 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund; believes that this project is significantly important in showcasing the work curated by artists such as T S Beall, Ursula Kam-Ling Cheng, Deirdre Nelson, Audrey O’Brien, Alex Wilde and Ailie Rutherford, and Donna Rutherford; understands that these artists are socially-engaged practitioners with decades of experience working with local communities to create innovative, temporary artworks in Govan’s public realm; further understands that this exhibition is inspired by, and represents, the stories and voices of women who worked as carers and/or in healthcare, and also engages with what it sees as the increased care burden of women during the COVID-19 pandemic; considers that these women are indispensable assets to the community, and commends the Woven in Renfrewshire’s achievement in receiving further funding in order to continue their work.
