Donaldsons of Orkney Win Silver at Scottish Craft Butcher Awards
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Donaldsons of Orkney on winning silver at the Scottish Craft Butcher Awards; recognises that the Kirkwall butcher secured its latest national accolade for its shin of beef parcels in the gourmet pastry products category and in the naked steak category; notes that the family-run, island-based butcher was established in 1995 and has become locally and nationally renowned for high-quality, traditional produce and specialities in its own cured and smoked bacon, sausages and puddings, Orkney smoked beef and smoked hams; understands that Donaldsons of Orkney has scooped up a number of prestigious awards over the years, including a 3 Star Gold Award for haggis at the 2016 Great Taste Awards; commends Donaldsons of Orkney for what it sees as its commitment to high-quality, locally-farmed and traceable Orkney beef, lamb and pork, as well as excellent fish produce, and wishes everyone involved at butcher all the very best for future success.
