Dougie Munro Praised for 47 Years of Service on Thurso Lifeboat

The motion

That the Parliament commends Coxswain Dougie Munro for his 47 years of service volunteering for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) as a crew member on the Thurso lifeboat; recognises that during his time volunteering, Dougie received numerous awards for his heroism and rescues, including a gallantry award from the Princess Royal; notes that Dougie’s last official training exercise also involved the crew members of the Longhope lifeboat, who later joined Dougie for a barbecue after the exercises were completed at the Thurso lifeboat station, and further wishes Dougie a happy retirement.
