G15 Youth Project Celebrating 25 years in the Community of Drumchapel

The motion

The Parliament congratulates the G15 Youth Project from Drumchapel in Glasgow Anniesland on its sterling service for the community and youth of Drumchapel for the last 25 years; believes that the project has been improving the lives of young people in the area since 1997, through a phenomenal range of activities and events, assisting with life skills and community work to support with job interviews and arranging accommodation for the homeless; understands that the G15 Youth Project’s purpose is the prevention and relief of poverty, the advancement of health, and the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship and other disadvantages; further understands that its invaluable work saw it receive the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2011, and recognises what it sees as the hard work and commitment of Joyce Bell, Peter Divers and Robert Macklin, along with all its other members of staff and volunteers from the “young team” that do so much.
