Dumfries Slow Fashion Movement
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Dumfries Slow Fashion Movement (DSFM) and its Creative Director, Marie McKinnon on the first annual Rock for Re:Dress festival, at the excellent venue of the Loreburn Hall in Dumfries town centre, building on its 2021 Slow Fashion show and for which 300 tickets were sold; understands that DSFM is a Scottish Community Interest Company that urges supporters to get creative with their clothing, recycle, up-cycle, customise, re-wear, rent, sway and fall in love with vintage; further understands that the motivation behind the movement is to bring an awareness and approach to fashion that considers the processes and resources required to make clothing and promotes sustainable fashion; congratulates local musical acts and Moniaive Young Theatre Makers for the entertainment they provided at the 2022 festival, and wishes everyone involved with DSFM all the best as they plan an even bigger, multi-day festival for 2023.
