Merchants House Café Wins Best New Coffee Shop at Scottish Business Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Merchants House Café in Kirkcaldy on winning the Best New Coffee Shop award at the Scottish Business Awards 2022; understands that the Scottish Business Awards are an independent cross boundary competition with a guiding principal of remaining independent of all bodies and organisations with no sponsors and existing only to serve the competition; notes that the Merchants House Café was opened two years ago by husband and wife Ricky and Marzena Barclay, who have sought to offer an experience of both Scottish and Polish culture within the café; understands that although opening its doors during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Merchants House Café has grown to become an exceptionally popular local business, and wishes Mr and Mrs Barclay, the Merchants House café and its staff all the best for the future.
