Sporting Memories

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes Sporting Memories' partnership with Made 4 U in ML2 by taking sport fans on a nostalgic trip down memory lane; understands that Sporting Memories is a charity and social enterprise that uses the power of memory and talking about sport to overcome mental and physical barriers many older people face, such as isolation, loneliness and dementia; further understands that Sporting Memories provides physical and social activities, creating new relationships, companionship and empowerment to many within the community; notes that there are an estimated 90,000 people with dementia in Scotland, and that around 3,000 of these people will be under the age of 65; thanks Sporting Memories and ML2 for bringing the project to Cambusnethan, and wishes them both all the best for their future projects.
