Louise Christie Named Senior Gymnast of the Year at Scottish Gymnastics Awards 2022

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Louise Christie, who won senior gymnast of the year along with fellow teammate Shannon Archer, at the 2022 Scottish Gymnastics Awards, which took place at the Village Hotel in Edinburgh on 5 November; notes that Louise was one of Team Scotland’s medal winners in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, which was held in Birmingham, with Louise picking up a well-earned silver medal in rhythmic ribbon; understands that Louise made her Team Scotland debut at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, with her silver being the best ever rhythmic gymnastics result for a Scottish gymnast and Scotland’s first rhythmic gymnastics medal at a games since 1994, and wishes Louise all the best ahead of the new competition year.
