Aberdeen Charity Instant Neighbour Launches 32nd Giving Tree Appeal
The motion
That the Parliament applauds the Aberdeen-based charity, Instant Neighbour, for organising its 32nd annual Giving Tree appeal, to provide gifts to children whose family may be unable to afford them; understands that the Giving Tree concept involves members of the public, businesses, schools and other organisations taking a card from one of several Giving Trees displayed throughout Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire, which has a child’s first name, age and gender on it and is later returned to the Giving Tree with a gift for the child; notes that in 2021, Instant Neighbour successfully organised, wrapped and provided 13,500 gifts to children in time for Christmas, and commends the Instant Neighbour team and all those who donated for giving children in need a merrier Christmas.
