Shetland Soap Company Celebrates 20 Years

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Shetland Soap Company on its 20th anniversary; understands that the Shetland Soap Company began trading from its shop and production premises in Lerwick in 2002 and today, alongside an online shop, stocks over 50 boutique retailers and visitor attractions, including the Scottish Parliament shop; further understands that the Shetland Soap Company is part of the social enterprise charity, Cope Ltd, which provides employment and skills development for adults with learning disabilities or autism; commends Cope Ltd and the Shetland Soap Company for creating opportunities for disabled people to participate in a supportive and inclusive work environment; believes that everyone regardless of disability should have the opportunity to work if they so wish, and that all workplaces should be free from stigma and discrimination, and wishes all at the Shetland Soap Company and Cope Ltd well as they celebrate this milestone.
