Pentlands Book Festival

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the 2022 Pentlands Book Festival, which coincides with Book Week Scotland, and will be held from 9 to 22 November at various locations in Colinton, Currie, Balerno, and Juniper Green in Edinburgh; understands that the festival is being held for the eighth time and is organised by local people for the community in conjunction with Currie and Colinton Libraries; notes that the theme of the festival is Scotland’s Stories and will bring exciting books and their writers to many local venues; understands that guests and speakers include journalist and podcaster, Lesley Riddoch, writer and journalist, Rosemary Goring, medic and explorer, Gavin Francis, and crime writer, Mary Paulson-Ellis among others; notes that all events are free, but with the opportunity to donate; thanks the organisers for their contribution to the community, and wishes the festival every success.
