Peterhead War Memorials to be Repaired

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that the war memorials in St Peter’s Cemetery, Peterhead, will be repaired and conserved following a grant from the War Memorials Trust Grants Scheme; notes that the work will include cleaning, repainting of the lettering and general repairs; further notes that Aberdeenshire Council and the Peterhead branch of the Royal British Legion have been working together on this vital project; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of restoring these memorials, and the role that they play in connecting people to those who have sacrificed their lives in conflict, and wishes all involved in the restoration project all the best for the future.
