Congratulating Cassie Forbes on Winning Woman of the Year

That the Parliament congratulates Cassie Forbes on winning the Woman of the Year gong in the community work category at the Scottish Women’s Awards; understands that Ms Forbes is the CEO of Roar – Connections for Life, a charity which works to bolster the physical and mental wellbeing of more than 900 older people across Renfrewshire; notes that Roar runs a health and wellbeing programme, exercise classes, an inter-generational initiative to tackle loneliness, the befriending service as well as having a clinical team to carry out mobility assessments at home; understands that the celebration provided a platform to commend female entrepreneurs, professionals, businesses, civil servants and sports stars on their successes and contributions to society; recognises that Ms Forbes is a former police officer who joined the police when females were in the minority and rose through the ranks to a senior position, providing, it believes, a fantastic example for the next generation of young women, and commends Ms Forbes once again on this achievement.
