The motion

That the Parliament commends the selfless actions of the Fraserburgh resident, Danny Thain, Founder of The World Suicide Prevention Project (TWSPP), who is sleeping rough in Aberdeen city centre for one month to raise awareness of his campaign to end suicide forever; recognises that Danny is reliant on the generosity of members of the public for food and drink while he is rough sleeping; applauds Danny’s ambitious efforts toward suicide prevention to raise £3 million to open the first-ever mental health rehabilitation centre, which will be a 300 acre Scottish estate with 16 bedrooms offering counselling, spa and wellness, outdoor activities and nutrition; understands that every 40 seconds someone decides to take their own life, and supports Danny and TWSPP in his endeavours for suicide prevention and supporting people with poor mental health.
