Remembering Rab Noakes
The motion
That the Parliament expresses condolences at the news of the death of Rab Noakes, at the age of 75, on 11 November 2022; notes that he was born in St Andrews and grew up in Cupar in North East Fife; understands that his musical career as a singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer spanned decades and genres from his first paid performance in 1967, to his time as a senior producer of music programmes for BBC Radio Scotland, and his performance on more than 20 albums; appreciates the exceptional and enduring contribution that he made to the Scottish music industry, including his support for and many performances at the Celtic Connections festival; understands that, as recently as last month, he was expressing his excitement for new projects, and expresses condolences to his friends and family at the sad news of his passing.
